I can't wait to get into my office each morning. Here's one reason why:

For awhile my office wasn't very inviting, so I worked on the couch instead. I got inspired (love Oprah's Nate!) and rearranged my space, added fresh flowers and a candle and voila! A space I can be creative in and get excited about.

Another reason is because I really love-love-love what I do and who I help. If you're not in love with your work, then maybe its time to listen to what your soul is telling you to do.

I met with an old friend yesterday, who in his words, truly has a rags-to-riches-to-rags-to-riches story. As he follows his purpose, he thrives. When he gets off track, he struggles. Each of us has a still, small voice inside that can direct us in the direction we're meant to go.

Added bonus: when you listen and act upon it, using your gifts for the good of yourself and world, you thrive and prosper.

What could be better? Take a moment to ponder what you might be on this planet to do, and then listen for the answer of what you next step is ~ then do it, sister! Be sure to have a space you love that inspires you to act upon your inspirations. I'll be right here cheering you on and waiting to hear of your fantastic results.

There are more than 11 million single moms in the U.S. That's a large presence for any one group to have. Yet what I notice is that as a group, or tribe, this group is NOT owning its power or presence or greatness. We're not taking control of our lives, our future and our success.

We have been taught, I believe, to "survive" as single moms. We've been taught it has to be hard. We have to do it on our own. We have to struggle. We will most likely screw up our kids. We can't have it all.

I disagree. I strongly disagree.

I think its time for a Single Mom Revolution! A paradigm shift in how single moms think, act and believe about themselves individually and as a group. I think its time for single moms to band together and own our greatness. Its time to create a new belief system, a new way of looking at singlemom-dom.

What would happen if we believed:

  • Its easy(er) to be a single mom.
  • We get to do it on our own. We can choose to find someone wonderful to do it with, it we want to.
  • We can thrive, create abundance and live lives of greatness.
  • Our kids are future rocks star (presidents, radio show hosts, business owners and humanitarians) and because we're their moms, they will turn out to be unstoppable and fantastic.
  • We can have, do, be and create whatever our hearts desire. No shit, no kidding.

Its a new day and its time to play a bigger game, ladies! Its time for you to own how fantastic you are ~ you've made a person (or people), so your body is amazing. You keep food on the table and the lights on ~ therefore, you are a terrific multi-tasker. You laugh at yourself, even when the chips are down ~ therefore I know there's a rockin' sense of humor in there. You are so full of amazingness and possibility, just what are you going to do with it?

Stop commiserating about how bad it is, and start collaborating with one another. Many hands make light work! Together, we can do anything! Stop playing small and asking for "just enough to get by" and start asking for what you really, truly, deep down in your bones want.

Right now. Start asking right now (even if you think nobody is even listening. They are, but that's another post). Get a journal and start writing (I'll get back to you on this soonest).

Check back often, because there's a Single Mom Revolution starting right here and right now. I'm going to be leading it, with a group of successful single moms, and together we're going to give you all of the tools, ideas, strategies and hope you need to make it happen. Get ready! Here we go ...

Once you've created your plan, take a deep breath! Congratulations is in order just for following through and taking the time to envision your future!

Take a moment to breathe, relax and just enjoy this moment. You are in a moment of creation! Whoo hoo!

Here's the truth: you've gotten to today, whether you had a plan or not. You might like where you are now, or not. This is I know for sure: there's always another level of our mental, spiritual and inner-self development. You may not want more (or maybe you do), and I do know you want the best you can get for your kids and yourself. One of the easiest ways to get there from here is to have a plan and work that plan!

Mental preparation is one of the key elements in a well-executed 100-day Plan. Take about 30 minutes, pull out your plan and review your top 3 goals. Write a paragraph for each goal answering the following:

  • I must achieve this goal because:
  • What I will get from achieving this goal:
  • What will I give up to achieve this goal:
  • Why is this goal worth what I will get and give up:
  • I'm worthy of achieving this goal because:
  • I will feel ______ when I achieve this goal!
  • I will reward myself with  _________ when I achieve this goal.

Once you complete these questions, attach them to your 100-Day Plan and submit them to me (email: honoree-at-corpron-dot-com or call my office for my fax number). One lucky winner will receive free 1-on-1 coaching with me for 100 days (that's 8 20-30 minute sessions ~ a value of $7500), as well as a copy of The Successful Single Mom Cooks cookbook when its released this Fall. Get started now ... submissions must be made by Thursday, April 30th. The winner will be chosen (when else?) on Mother's Day.

Good luck! Here's to your single mom success!

When you have hope about something, its easy to take steps in the direction of your desires. The next step to take in the process is setting your intention.

My number one recommendation for someone who wants more is to work on themselves more. As in all the time. The more you work on your inner self, the more your outer self will have to enjoy. (By have, I don't only mean "stuff", I also mean fun, love, joy, magic moments, etc.) As I wrote in the book, success is 98% inner preparation and 2% outer action.

One of the personal growth seminars I had the privilege of taking about five years ago gave the formula for success:

100% Intention
+ 0% Mechanism
100% Success

You don't need to know the how ... where is the money going to come from, which client is going to say yes next, when what you want is coming. Your part in it is being very clear what you want and that you must have it ... an object of desire and obsession. I equate intention with "why," the mechanism is the what, when, where and how ... and you don't need to concern yourself with them. When you do your inner preparation, the outer actions and results come as needed.

My assistant, Lori, is the perfect example of what happens when you get clear and set your intention. I'll let her tell you her story, let me tell you her results ~ just for the purposes of giving you hope so you can set your intention. Two weeks ago she was in need of a place to live and a new job. Within two days, she had a new (FABULOUS) job (ahem) and a unique and amazing living situation. When you read her story, you will say: "That just doesn't happen." Umm, yes it does!

What's your intention? What do you want next most in your life? Leave them here in a comment. Next, we'll discuss your plan, and what happens when fear shows up and you're in your $#!*.

The age old question: "what comes first, the chicken or the egg?" New question: "what comes first: feeling great comes from great results or great results come from feeling great?"

Laurie, one of the moms who I coached as part of the book, noticed she felt amazing first and then the magic and miracles happened. To quote her on the 100th day: "If I jumped out of my skin, I couldn't catch myself." She's a pretty special person who has an incredibly wonderful attitude. Its no wonder she has really cool stuff happen to her all the time. She said to me just this morning that she is constantly working on herself because she knows it works.

While it seems as though a decent-sized portion of our country is experiencing challenges, especially financial challenges, they also seem to be focusing on what they don't want: lack and limitation and financial challenges. A coincidence? I don't think so! I wonder what would happen if, as a collective whole, we all focused on opportunities, low-hanging fruit and our preferred and desired futures. Just a thought.

As a single mom, I had some of the hardest days and darkest times of my life. I noticed when I did internal shifting (focused on myself and my personal growth), my external results changed. I wrote about that topic here: http://tinyurl.com/cnssxb. I hope you agree: that's fantastic news!! You can't control how much money the President spends, the value of your home or even your children ... what you can control is what goes on between your ears ... which ultimately controls what goes on in your life. (I know, isn't that fantastic?). Once I came to that realization, my life has taken new and delightful turns.

I hope yours does, too.
