Getting Your Goals

A couple of weeks ago I did a poll about the most important thing(s) to do to get your goals. The choices were: get up every time you fall, have a vision, have a coach, set goals, review your goals daily, and take daily action steps. There was also the "all of the above" option. Of those who took the poll, 31.3% chose correctly: all of the above.
In order to achieve everything you want to achieve, all while raising a little one (or two, or several), each of the above items is crucial.
Your vision is your what, what you want your life to look like in the future. I like a big, long-term vision full of inspiration, positive emotion and vivid pictures. I have a ten-year vision, a 2009 vision and a 100-day vision. Take an hour or two to write out your vision and be sure to include all of your senses in the description (see, hear, taste, smell, touch).
Goals that inspire you to jump out of bed and move into action are important. Pick just three and focus on them. Review them morning and evening. I purchased glass markers and wrote my goals on my bathroom mirror where I see them a couple of times every day (and so does my subconcious mind). Make sure you follow the SMART system when setting the goals, making them Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Risky and with a Time-frame.
Daily action toward your vision and goals is a must. I have six daily actions (working out, writing, client service, business development, personal development, family). I write each of these out every day and check them off as they are achieved.
Finally, get up every time you fall, encounter a challenge or have a bad day. I know you're doing the best you can. Keep putting one foot in front of the other, and sooner or later, you'll find yourself getting even better results than you originally dreamed possible.
Go for it! You can do it!
