Guest Blog: Decorating Need Not Break the Bank!

Posted by: Honoree in Untagged  on

You want to decorate your kid or teen’s room creatively yet economically. While this can be a bit challenging, it is certainly attainable.

There are a number of different ideas you can explore, which will hopefully produce a room both you and your kids can enjoy.
One inexpensive way to update a room, is repaint it and you can do it yourself and even have your child participate.  Pick a color in the vibrant palate like orange, lime green or turquoise for a girl or navy, burnt red or denim blue for a boy.

Not up to tackling on a paint job? Wall stickies or a piece of wall art can change an entire look of a room.

Wall stickies come in wall pockets which are great for holding pictures, discs, letters and other small items. Wall photo corners are the newest way to hold photos of your family members and are easy to move and are also removable.

Wall Art/ Wall Stickies Ideas
  • Wall Sticker Photo frames for pics of your child’s own artwork
  • Modern Wall Sticker Art –Like trendy cupcakes or polka dots to make walls jump out
  • Wall Pocket Appliques -for holding discs, photos, letters and personal items
  • Wall Sticker Glam Photo Frames for enclosing pictures in different sizes like 5 x 7 or 8 x 10
  • Floral wall stickers that add a splash of color to your childs walls
  • Peel & Stick Wall Appliques- Modern polka dots to enhance a room.

Pillows are a nice way to enhance  a child’s bedroom without breaking the bank. Adding a few pillows can change the entire look of a bed.

Ideas for pillows:
  • Personalized throw pillows or sports pillows
  • Animal Print pillows
  • Cat Shaped Pillowcase
  • Football Fanatic Pocket Pillow with pocket for hiding their treasures

Other inexpensive ideas and accessories for kids rooms:

  • Fabric letters in your childs’s name or an initial of their last name
  • Hand painted magnet boards to hang notes or pictures
  • A bright colored chair or bean bag chair
  • Modern personalized wall art with your childs name
  • Table Lamps in Furry fabrics which are popular right now
  • Zebra and Pink Feather Wall Mirror or Fuzzy Wall Clock in trendy animal print fabrics with embellishments
  • Picture frames or Knobs

Whether a fresh coat of paint, a new set of pillows, wall art or wall stickies, you can decorate your child’s room on a small budget and change the entire look of the room.
